Dubai, UAE – 3 November 2025
His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, participated in the UAE Flag Day celebrations at The Gate Building in Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC). The event was organised by Brand Dubai, the creative arm of the Dubai Media Office, in partnership with DIFC.
During the ceremony, Sheikh Mohammed, accompanied by 150 students from various schools across Dubai, hoisted the UAE flag in front of The Gate Building. The venue featured a striking 15-storey artwork commemorating the historic meeting between the late Sheikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan and the late Sheikh Rashid bin Saeed Al Maktoum at Al Khawaneej farm in Dubai. This artwork served as the centerpiece for the #ZayedAndRashid campaign, organised by Brand Dubai for the second consecutive year.
Addressing attendees, Sheikh Mohammed highlighted the enduring significance of the UAE flag, describing it as a symbol of pride, dignity, and progress. He praised the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, President of the UAE, and acknowledged the contributions of the Supreme Council Members and the Rulers of the Emirates in building on the vision of the nation’s Founding Fathers.
Sheikh Mohammed reflected on the legacy of the late Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid, noting that their values laid the foundation for the nation and established a model of development and humanitarian excellence admired globally. He also emphasised that national progress is a shared responsibility and that true patriotism is reflected through one’s work, actions, and achievements.
“The journey of nation-building continues under the leadership of His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, with the support of the Supreme Council Members and Rulers of the Emirates,”
Sheikh Mohammed said.
“Today, the Union is stronger, more stable, and more prosperous, with its flag serving as a lasting emblem of dignity, unity, and progress.”
He added that the UAE flag embodies national unity, sovereignty, and identity, inspiring citizens to strive for excellence across sectors such as economy, education, space, and innovation. It also stands as a reminder of the enduring legacies of Sheikh Zayed and Sheikh Rashid in shaping a forward-looking nation committed to peace, progress, and humanity.
UAE Flag Day was first launched in November 2013 by Sheikh Mohammed as a national celebration to honour the UAE flag as a symbol of sovereignty, unity, and pride. Observed annually on 3 November, the day marks the beginning of the National Month campaign, which this year runs until Eid Al Etihad on 2 December. The campaign commemorates the nation’s achievements and offers citizens an opportunity to express their loyalty and pride in the UAE’s leadership and ongoing journey of progress.
