Dubai – 23 October 2026
Ten international technology companies have been selected for the Geospatial Accelerator, an initiative based at DIFC Innovation Hub that aims to turn satellite data and artificial intelligence (AI) into practical solutions for businesses and public-sector organisations.
The programme received 73 applications from 24 countries, bringing together companies developing technologies that use Earth Observation (EO) data, including information collected through satellites, to address real-world challenges.
The selected companies will work with UAE public- and private-sector organisations to develop and test their solutions through proof-of-concept projects. These projects will help assess how the technologies can be applied in practice, including in areas such as climate resilience, environmental monitoring, infrastructure optimisation and insurance.
The Geospatial Accelerator is the first initiative under Space for Earth Labs, a platform established through a partnership between DIFC Innovation Hub and the Mohammed Bin Rashid Space Centre (MBRSC), with support from Relm Insurance. The wider initiative aims to connect space technology developers with industry partners and commercial opportunities, helping turn research and technical innovations into solutions that can be used across different sectors.
The programme also reflects the growing connection between space technology and financial services. Satellite data and AI can support risk assessment, environmental monitoring and insurance-related applications, creating opportunities for businesses to make more informed decisions.
Initial outcomes from the selected companies are expected to be showcased at the upcoming Dubai AI Festival, highlighting potential applications of AI and satellite technology in addressing industry challenges.
The initiative further strengthens DIFC’s role as a hub for technology and innovation, expanding its ecosystem beyond traditional financial services and supporting the development of emerging technologies with commercial potential.
