Dubai – 27 October 2026
Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) is set to strengthen its position as a centre for artificial intelligence (AI) and technology following the approval of new growth targets for Dubai AI Campus by His Highness Sheikh Hamdan bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Crown Prince of Dubai, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defence of the UAE.
The new strategy aims to attract more than 1,000 AI companies and create over 5,000 highly skilled jobs by 2030, supporting Dubai’s wider ambition to become a global centre for technology, innovation and the digital economy.
The announcement was made during the opening of the third Dubai AI Festival on 26 October 2026 at Dubai World Trade Centre, where international technology leaders, investors and policymakers gathered to explore developments in artificial intelligence.
Since its launch in May 2024, Dubai AI Campus has attracted more than 500 AI companies, which have collectively secured over AED1 billion in investment from private equity and venture capital funds. The initiative has also contributed to the creation of more than 2,000 specialised technology jobs, achieving its original targets two years ahead of schedule.
As part of its next phase of development, plans have been unveiled for a new purpose-built Dubai AI Campus facility within the DIFC Zabeel District expansion. Covering approximately 100,000 square feet, the building will provide dedicated spaces for AI research, development and collaboration between technology companies, government organisations and investors.
The planned facility will include advanced computing infrastructure, secure AI development areas and specialised laboratories where businesses can develop and test new technologies. An AI Experience Centre will also showcase practical applications of artificial intelligence across different industries, with access planned for residents, students, visitors and investors.
His Excellency Arif Amiri, Chief Executive Officer of DIFC Authority, highlighted the growing importance of artificial intelligence in transforming financial services and business operations, emphasising DIFC’s ambition to create an environment where innovation can develop responsibly and securely.
The expansion represents another stage in DIFC’s development beyond traditional financial services, bringing together technology businesses, investment opportunities and specialised talent. With its new targets and planned facilities, Dubai AI Campus is expected to play an increasingly important role in supporting the growth of Dubai’s AI economy towards 2030.
