Dubai – 4 November 2026
The Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) has announced that its community of artificial intelligence (AI), financial technology (FinTech) and innovation companies has grown to more than 2,000 firms. The milestone was announced during the second day of Dubai Future Finance Week, marking significant growth in the Centre’s technology and innovation sector less than ten years after it began developing its vision for the future of finance.
The growth follows DIFC’s efforts to establish an environment for businesses developing and applying new technologies within financial services. An important part of this development was the launch of FinTech Hive, which became the region’s first financial technology accelerator. It was established to support emerging FinTech businesses and connect them with financial institutions, investors and industry professionals.
Today, the wider ecosystem includes companies working across artificial intelligence, digital financial services and other areas of technological development. These businesses contribute to changes in how financial services are delivered, from digital payments and banking solutions to automated processes and data-driven financial systems.
Alongside the announcement, DIFC and its research partner, Asia House, introduced a report titled Digital Economy 2.0, examining the factors shaping the next phase of digital economic growth. The report highlights the importance of investment, skilled talent and progressive regulation in helping technology businesses develop and expand.
It also outlines the scale of the opportunities ahead for the global technology and financial services industries. Global technology spending is forecast to reach USD 5.6 trillion in 2026, while artificial intelligence is projected to contribute USD 22.3 trillion to the global economy by 2030. The report also forecasts that the global FinTech market could reach USD 1.5 trillion by 2030.
These developments reflect the increasing role of technology in the financial sector, where businesses are adopting digital tools to improve services, manage information and develop new financial products. As the industry evolves, access to investment, specialised talent and an appropriate regulatory environment will remain important for companies looking to grow.
For DIFC, surpassing 2,000 AI, FinTech and innovation firms represents an expansion beyond its established financial services community. The Centre is increasingly home to businesses involved in developing the technologies and services that are influencing the future of finance, strengthening Dubai’s position as a regional centre for financial and technological innovation.
