Moro Hub, the digital subsidiary of DEWA under Digital DEWA, hosted a senior delegation from the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), one of the most prominent financial hubs across the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia. The visit, led by H.E. Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, included key officials such as Arif Amiri (CEO of DIFC Authority), Ahmad Albastaki (SVP of IT), and Muath Al Kubaisy (VP of IT Infrastructure). They were welcomed by H.E. Saeed Mohammed Al Tayer, MD & CEO of DEWA.
The purpose of the visit was to gain insights into Moro Hub’s high-tech digital infrastructure and its smart service offerings, particularly in the areas of cloud solutions, cybersecurity, Internet of Things (IoT), and smart city technology. The delegation explored how these services contribute to digital transformation across various sectors.
Also present at the meeting were Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar, Vice Chairman of Digital and Group CEO of Digital DEWA; Eng. Waleed Bin Salman, Vice Chairman for Energy at Digital DEWA; board member Abdul Nasser Abbas; and Moro Hub CEO Mohammed Bin Sulaiman.
H.E. Al Tayer emphasized that this visit supports Dubai’s strategic direction under the leadership of H.H. Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum. He stated that Digital DEWA is committed to fast-tracking digital innovation and creating future-ready infrastructure. These efforts are part of broader national goals, such as the UAE Net Zero by 2050 initiative and Dubai’s strategies for clean energy and reduced carbon emissions. He welcomed the DIFC team and highlighted the importance of joint efforts in building a digitally empowered economy that aligns with sustainability objectives.
The delegation was first presented with an overview of Moro Hub’s digital capabilities. The briefing covered the company’s work in hosting and cloud services, digital security, and IoT-based solutions that support the UAE’s move toward a smart, sustainable future.
H.E. Essa Kazim highlighted the role of forward-thinking partnerships in shaping Dubai’s future economy. He pointed out that working with Digital DEWA and Moro Hub reflects the spirit of collaboration that underpins the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33). He also reaffirmed DIFC’s position as a major player in fostering a technology-driven, globally competitive economic environment.
After the presentation, the group toured Moro Hub’s major facilities, including the eco-friendly Green Data Centre, the Network Operation Centre (NOC), the Security Operation Centre (SOC), and the Smart Cities and IoT Command Centre. Each of these showcased Moro Hub’s commitment to reliability, security, and digital sustainability.
Eng. Marwan Bin Haidar remarked that Moro Hub, as part of Digital DEWA, is continuously integrating artificial intelligence and sustainable technologies to address future challenges and ensure business resilience. He added that the visit by DIFC’s leadership demonstrates a strong alignment between the two organizations in pursuing innovative, scalable, and competitive digital solutions.
The visit concluded by reaffirming Moro Hub’s important role in advancing digital infrastructure in the UAE and the broader region, thanks to its robust facilities and commitment to smart, secure, and green technologies.
