China International Capital Corporation Limited (CICC), a prominent investment bank in China, has officially inaugurated its new branch at the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), a key financial hub for the Middle East, Africa, and South Asia.
Operating under CICC Hong Kong Securities Limited and known as CICC (DIFC Branch), the new office holds a Category 4 license and is regulated by the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA). This expansion marks an important step in CICC’s global strategy, offering a platform to better serve regional clients and support Chinese enterprises exploring international opportunities.
DIFC has become a strategic base for many Chinese financial institutions, with around 30% of them listed among the Fortune 500. As economic cooperation between China and the UAE continues to deepen, DIFC provides an ideal ecosystem for growth, enhanced by Dubai’s AI-driven development plans and CICC’s strengths in research and technology.
Essa Kazim, Governor of DIFC, welcomed CICC’s presence, emphasizing Dubai’s growing appeal for Chinese investors across sectors like banking, wealth management, and insurance. He highlighted DIFC’s role in fostering innovation and shaping the financial future of the region.
Chen Liang, Chairman of CICC, described the Dubai branch as a milestone in the firm’s global journey. He noted that CICC aims to provide tailored financial solutions that support cross-border investment, especially in line with China’s Belt and Road Initiative. From Dubai, CICC will facilitate capital flow and deepen economic connections between China and the Gulf region.
CICC combines local market expertise with global reach, offering a full spectrum of services across investment banking, asset management, private equity, and more. With offices in key cities such as New York, London, Frankfurt, Tokyo, and Singapore, CICC continues to expand its international footprint. The new DIFC branch reinforces its goal of becoming a key investment bridge between China and the broader Middle East region.
