Dubai – 29 October 2026
Dubai’s Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) is set to open the final bridge of the World Trade Centre Roundabout Development Project on 30 October 2026, marking the completion of major road improvements designed to reduce traffic congestion and improve connectivity across central Dubai, including routes serving Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC).
The new 1,000-metre, two-lane bridge will connect Al Majlis Street to 2nd December Street, accommodating approximately 3,000 vehicles per hour. The improved road connection is expected to reduce journey times along this route from six minutes to just one minute, providing smoother traffic movement through one of Dubai’s busiest intersections.
The wider development includes five bridges spanning a combined 5,000 metres, alongside the conversion of the former roundabout into a ground-level intersection. With an investment exceeding AED 696 million, the project aims to reduce average traffic delays at the junction from 12 minutes to approximately 90 seconds.
For those working, living or visiting DIFC, the improvements are expected to provide more convenient access through surrounding roads, particularly for motorists travelling from Jumeirah, Al Satwa and other nearby districts. The upgraded connections will also support traffic movement between Sheikh Zayed Road, Al Mustaqbal Street and Dubai World Trade Centre.
The project forms part of Dubai’s wider road infrastructure improvements, which include ongoing upgrades to Al Mustaqbal Street, scheduled for completion in 2027. These developments aim to improve road capacity, support growing traffic demand and provide more efficient journeys between Dubai’s major business and residential areas.
