Dubai – 12 October 2026
Groupe BPCE, one of France’s leading banking groups, has established its regional operations in the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC), reinforcing Dubai’s role as a base for international financial institutions operating across regional markets.
On 10 October 2026, Sheikh Maktoum bin Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, President of DIFC, met with Nicolas Namias, Chairman of the Management Board and Chief Executive Officer of Groupe BPCE, to discuss opportunities to strengthen cooperation in banking, investment and financial services.
The meeting highlighted Dubai’s position as an international financial hub connecting global businesses with opportunities across the Middle East and other markets. Discussions also covered the development of the UAE’s financial ecosystem and Dubai’s ability to attract international institutions through its regulatory framework, infrastructure and business environment.
Groupe BPCE serves approximately 36 million customers and operates in more than 50 countries. The group provides services across retail banking, corporate and investment banking, asset and wealth management, insurance and specialised financial services. Its regional operations in DIFC reflect the centre’s role in connecting international financial groups with opportunities across the region.
The meeting forms part of Dubai’s broader efforts to expand its financial services sector and strengthen relationships with global institutions, in line with the Dubai Economic Agenda D33, which aims to position the emirate among the world’s four leading financial hubs.
