Residents keen to keep up their fitness routine despite the summer heat now have a new option: the Dubai Mallathon has officially opened its free, air-conditioned indoor running and walking track at Gate Avenue, DIFC, welcoming the public every morning through mid-September.
Indoor Track Now Open Daily in DIFC
Organisers confirmed that Gate Avenue is fully set up to host walkers, joggers and runners as part of a city-wide push to help residents stay active through Dubai’s hotter months. The programme runs from 1 August to 15 September 2026, with all sessions starting from Gate Avenue 1.
In a social media post announcing the launch, organisers wrote that Gate Avenue at DIFC is open and ready to welcome the community, encouraging people to enjoy a refreshing run or a breezy indoor walk on the track in complete comfort.
Daily Timings: 6:00 AM – 10:00 AM
The indoor track is open every day from 6:00 AM to 10:00 AM, giving residents a comfortable window to complete a walk, jog or run before the mall’s retail hours begin. One lap of the track measures 1.2 KM, and participants are free to complete as many laps as they like with 1.2K, 2.4K and 4.8K as suggested distance options.
No prior registration is required for these daily sessions, residents can simply show up at Gate Avenue 1 any time between 6:00 AM and 10:00 AM and join in.
Signing Up for the Dubai Mallathon Pro Race
For those after a bigger challenge, the Dubai Mallathon Pro Race offers timed 2.5km, 5km and 10km races. Unlike the daily sessions, the Pro Race requires online registration in advance via the official Dubai Mallathon website, with spots allocated on a first-come, first-served basis. On Pro Race days, the regular free walk/jog sessions shift to a later 8:30 AM start to accommodate the race.
Getting There and Parking
Gate Avenue sits within DIFC, just off Sheikh Zayed Road, and offers on-site parking at Avenue District Parking for anyone joining the event.
Participants wanting to preview the route beforehand can check the Mall Running Course Map, available on the Dubai Mallathon site, which lays out the full 1.2 KM lap around Gate Avenue.
