On May 22, 2025, the Dubai International Financial Centre (DIFC) and the Mohammed bin Rashid Centre for Leadership Development (MBRCLD) introduced the inaugural Dubai Financial Expert Programme. This six-month initiative welcomed 20 Emirati professionals, aiming to prepare a new wave of leaders equipped to innovate and lead within the financial sector both locally and internationally.

Targeting Emiratis aged 25 to 35 with 5–10 years of experience especially in finance the programme selects candidates through a thorough evaluation process. Applicants are assessed on leadership ability, financial understanding, education, and proven performance in strategic or supervisory roles. Participants in this initial cohort represent a diverse set of 16 major organizations, including Emirates NBD, Mastercard, Dubai Police, and the Securities and Commodities Authority.

The programme began with an Orientation Day at Emirates Towers, followed by an executive roundtable discussion with senior leaders. Shortly after, participants attended an executive course at Saïd Business School at Oxford University in the UK, where they explored topics such as FinTech, ethical banking, AI in finance, and forward-thinking leadership strategies.

In June 2025, the trainees will be embedded within leading financial firms and innovation-driven companies inside DIFC for hands-on job shadowing. This practical exposure sets the stage for a study tour to Silicon Valley, where they’ll meet with top executives and explore emerging financial technologies. Their journey will conclude with final capstone projects that apply their learning to real-world business challenges, culminating in a formal graduation during the Mohammed Bin Rashid Leaders Forum at the Dubai World Trade Centre.

Participants benefit from mentorship throughout the programme, guided by accomplished figures such as the CEOs of Citi UAE, Standard Chartered, and Global Ventures, along with thought leaders from the DIFC and other major institutions. This mentorship fosters deeper industry insight, sharpens decision-making, and strengthens executive capabilities.

Marking its 20th year in 2024, MBRCLD has built a legacy of leadership development, with over 850 alumni now serving in key roles across the UAE. With initiatives like this, MBRCLD continues its mission to identify and empower the next generation of leaders committed to shaping the future of the nation’s economy and governance.
