The General Command of Dubai Civil Defense, in partnership with the Dubai AI Campus at the DIFC Innovation Hub, has officially launched the Civil Defense AI Lab. This initiative aims to accelerate the use of artificial intelligence in fire safety, emergency response, and lifesaving operations while supporting Dubai’s broader vision to become a global hub for innovation and advanced technologies.
A Step Towards Smart Emergency Services
The launch aligns with the objectives of the Dubai Universal Blueprint for Artificial Intelligence, which focuses on expanding AI adoption across key sectors and strengthening Dubai’s position as a leader in future technologies. The lab provides a dedicated platform for developing and implementing AI solutions that enhance civil defense capabilities and public safety operations.

Strategic Vision for AI Integration
Major General Al Muhairi described the AI lab as a strategic step toward establishing a comprehensive smart system for civil defense. He explained that the lab will help enhance the readiness of emergency teams, integrate AI into rescue operations, and develop intelligent firefighting technologies. He added, “Our goal is to launch joint innovation programs, strengthen public-private partnerships, build national expertise, and create global alliances to adopt the most advanced practices.”
H.E. Arif Amiri emphasized the broader impact of AI integration on Dubai’s growth, stating: “Innovation is at the heart of DIFC’s strategy to accelerate Dubai’s digital economy. By fostering collaborations like this, we are creating ecosystems where ideas translate into practical solutions. AI adoption in critical sectors will shape a safer, smarter, and more connected future for Dubai and the world.”
International Collaboration: Silicon Valley Visit
As part of the partnership, the Dubai AI Campus will organise a Civil Defense delegation visit to Silicon Valley, USA. The delegation will explore cutting-edge technologies in robotics, drones, AI-based command systems, and next-generation firefighting solutions. They will also meet with leading startups and multinational companies to identify innovative tools to enhance civil defense operations and improve Dubai’s emergency response efficiency.
