Dubai – 3 September 2026
As cryptocurrency and digital assets continue to evolve across global markets, understanding their place within legal and regulatory frameworks is becoming increasingly important. With digital assets operating across borders, questions around regulation, jurisdiction and legal responsibility are becoming more significant. DIFC Academy will explore these issues through a three-session programme from 14 to 16 September 2026.
Held in collaboration with KBH, the Cryptocurrency and Dispute Resolution module forms part of the DIFC Laws Certificate Programme 2026. It will examine the development of cryptocurrency, different regulatory approaches around the world and the legal challenges that can arise when crypto-related matters become disputes.
The first session on 14 September will explore the global development of cryptocurrency, including jurisdiction and the balance between regulation and deregulation. On 15 September, the focus will shift to the UAE regulatory framework, followed by a final session on 16 September covering litigation, case law and tactical considerations.
The sessions will feature Bushra Ahmed, Partner at KBH, and Judge Michael Black of the DIFC Courts, bringing legal and judicial perspectives to the discussion.
The first session will be delivered in a hybrid format at DIFC Academy and online, while the remaining sessions will take place online via Microsoft Teams.
The module is priced at AED 1,200 and carries 2 CLPD points. It can also be taken individually as part of the wider DIFC Laws Certificate Programme 2026.
