About Gate Avenue

Gate Avenue is like a lively street running through the heart of DIFC. Stretching about 880 metres from The Gate to Central Park Towers, it links office towers with cafés, restaurants, shops and open public spaces. Architect RMJM designed a mix of indoor walkways and outdoor promenades, with planting and shaded areas that give people places to pause in the middle of the busy financial district.

DIFC commissioned the project, which covers around 660,000 square feet. Here’s a fun detail: look out for the smaller “gates” along the avenue.

They echo the shape of DIFC’s famous Gate building and help connect the indoor shopping areas with the outdoor promenade. So even as you wander between lunch spots and shops, the district’s landmark design keeps showing up along the way.
