Dubai – 11 September 2026
Hong Kong and Dubai are strengthening financial ties through a new strategic working group focused on improving connectivity between the two markets.
The initiative brings together Hong Kong Exchanges and Clearing (HKEX), the Hong Kong Monetary Authority (HKMA), the Dubai Financial Services Authority (DFSA) and Nasdaq Dubai. The group will explore opportunities across sustainable finance, Islamic finance, financial innovation and capital markets.
The collaboration aims to create stronger connections between investors, financial institutions and businesses across Asia and the Middle East, with particular attention to areas such as Sukuk and sustainable finance.
The initiative also builds on Hong Kong’s growing presence in Dubai. In October, HKEX launched a new Dubai-based unit to support the development of its commodities business, further strengthening links between the two financial markets.
The four organisations will continue to work together and explore opportunities to support the development of a stronger Asia-Middle East financial corridor.
For DIFC, the initiative highlights Dubai’s continued role as a financial hub connecting international markets and supporting cross-border investment and financial activity.
